Jobs

Big Giant Head (BGH) is a small, fully remote production team creating a mix of weekly comedy podcasts, videos, livestreams, and in-person events. We are currently looking to add to our team, and we’re eager to find someone who will fit in with the company dynamic.
Open Positions

Narrative Podcast Sound Designer and Editor – Remote (U.S. Only)
Big Giant Head has been producing many varied podcasts for over a decade, and we’re seeking a Narrative Podcast Sound Designer/Editor to help shape the storytelling soundscape of our shows.
This person will serve as the lead editor for an immersive audio narrative podcast as well as support other BGH productions as needed. Our close-knit remote team collaborates mainly over Slack and video calls, so while this role offers — and requires — plenty of independence, we’re looking for someone who thrives in a creative, communicative, and slightly chaotic (in the best way) environment.
Responsibilities
> Craft sound design and original scoring for narrative and actual play podcasts
> Upload and schedule episodes on hosting platforms
> Write episode descriptions for review
> Mark standout clips for social media
> Edit and polish conversational shows for clarity and flow, as needed
Qualifications
We value creativity, curiosity, and collaboration over formal credentials. That said, typical qualifications include:
> Experience with podcast editing and sound design (3-5 years preferred)
> A strong sense of story and pacing, with an understanding of how sound shapes emotion
> Excellent organization and follow-through, with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
> Proficiency with audio production and editing tools (familiarity with iZotope, Reaper, and Adobe Audition is a plus)
Benefits and Compensation
> Salary starts at $75k (negotiable based on experience) with regular raises
> Fully covered health insurance for you and your dependents
> Unlimited paid time off and paid holidays
> Budget allowance for your remote workspace setup
We encourage applications from people of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences. To apply for this role, please head to this link where you can fill out a basic application and upload a cover letter, resume, and three sample episodes (or other relevant audio work) that you’ve edited/produced.
This listing will remain active until the position is filled, but we aim to move to the next round of the hiring process by Nov. 15th. If you have any questions, email jobs [at] themcelroy.family and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
